Union Yoga & Physical Therapy
Hi friends and welcome to Union Yoga & Physical Therapy. I’m Dr. Danielle Rose, your neighborhood women’s health acupuncturist, herbal medicine practitioner, and physical therapist.

While I was in acupuncture school, I was also treating physical therapy patients in my home-based clinic. One day, I evaluated a woman about six weeks postpartum. She described feeling sudden pelvic pressure and deep fatigue.
Even as a student, I knew immediately what was happening — her energy (qi) had dropped, and her spleen system needed support. I recommended acupuncture, and that moment changed how I understood healing for women.
When “Everything Looks Fine” — But Doesn’t Feel Fine
Have you recently given birth? Maybe you left the hospital feeling okay, but a few weeks later, something shifted. You feel heavy, drained, maybe even a bit down — like your body and emotions are weighed down.

Your doctor says you’re fine, but you know something isn’t right. This is a classic sign of what we call “Spleen Qi Not Holding” in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The spleen, in TCM, is the foundation of your body’s energy and blood production. After birth — when you’ve lost both blood and energy — the spleen can become depleted, leading to:

-
A feeling of pelvic pressure or prolapse
-
Low energy and fatigue
-
Mood changes or postpartum depression

How Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine Can Help

This is where Eastern medicine truly shines. Acupuncture and herbal medicine gently rebuild your body’s energy reserves, helping to lift what has “sunk” and nourish what’s been depleted.

When your spleen becomes strong again, energy rises — you feel lighter, more centered, and emotionally grounded.

-
Acupuncture improves circulation, supports hormone balance, and restores energy flow.
-
Herbal medicine strengthens your spleen and blood more deeply, helping results last longer and build faster.
Most patients start to feel a difference after 1–2 sessions, but lasting balance typically develops over 4–8 weekly treatments. Herbal medicine enhances and extends those benefits, making it a powerful partner to acupuncture.
Ready to Feel Like Yourself Again?
Postpartum recovery takes time — but with support, you can regain your strength and stability. Acupuncture and herbal medicine offer a natural, nurturing path forward.
