For those of you who are curious about Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine…this post is just for you!
This is a short video showing the typical types of ways that one can ingest their herbal medicine.
The most common type is powder. I have another video in the works on just that. It’s easy to use and customizable to your needs. If you travel quite a bit, pills are the obvious option. The dosage tends to “seem” quite large (as compared to what we’re used to taking). So don’t be freaked out when you’re taking 5-8 pills, 2-3x/day. Tinctures are another great option (& travel well too!). I’m starting to dabble in them more and will have more information in a bit. Raw is definitely the most time consuming, as you have to cook them yourself; however, many believe that it is the most effective. Raw is how herbal medicine began, thousands of years ago. Ready-made decoctions are another option that I didn’t show. They are the raw herbs that come pre-decocted (meaning cooked) in a sealed pouch (it’s just a liquid). It’s another amazing option; of course, it comes at a price…
I have used a little of everything and so far have found powders to be just as good as the raw.
I will have another post about herbal medicine as a medicine; as many people think it’s the same as going to Target and buying Marshmallow Root. Psst…it’s not. So more on that later.
Hopefully you enjoyed the video…I’m kind of having fun making them. More to come, friends!
